Login to your power bill! I know I've seen people post these before but my portal only started showing these recently. September I was pretty close to the top user :(

98.67% or 889 of the customers in your neighbourhood used less than you
0.44% or 4 of the customers in your neighbourhood used more than you.

Now that it's cold some drafty winter homes are with all electric heat are using more then me. For November there are 34 customers above me. My usage isn't THAT bad, 2000kwh a month or so. It's just I live in a rural area where no one powers devices. Still I would have thought there would be people running little machine shops or something from their homes.. I am amazed people can live on 500 kwh a month...

Whoa how big is your tank?
Not big but I do have a lot. As I said I think this is more a reflection of the fact my neighbours don't use a lot of power. I'm a high user but not CRAZY HIGH user.

112g
90g - this tank has one 250w metal halide which actually does draw less then 2 black boxes at full power for instance, although there are a couple of led's as well.
50g frag
10g nano
and endless amount of clownfish tanks but they just have heaters and air pumps so not much use there.

I'm fairly certain I've got the only reef aquarium in town...

Buffalo, Missouri just isn't that big of a town :D

Electrical usage? Tank ain't got nothing on the swimming pool... and the old hot tub I finally got rid of was horrible.

1972 ranch style house, all electric, large... single floor...

October was 3,220 KwH... and that was good weather. You should see August or January's usage!

Dang, and I thought 1268 Kwh for my 3 story split level with 2 tanks was high...

Yeah, I'm not using a tremendous amount of extra power on my tanks, but the livingroom does glow blue at night

I'm sure my neighbors are concerned
Glowing blue is ok it’s those flashes of lightning inside that they are concerned about...LOL

I also always wonder who these “efficient neighbors” are.... I don’t get how you can only use 500kwh....
If it makes you feel better it is mostly wind power lol.

and cheap.
I made the change to all wind power a couple months ago too, and it saved us a bunch!!!
win-win!!
