Hey I need to do hypo-salinity on the FOWLR and I wanted to know if my Horn Shark would be able to handle the lower salinity 1.009 for about a week. Some articles say it would be okay but some articles say it won't work for them based of there osmotic pressure inside and how they defuse the water. Any experience or knowledge would be helpful thank you!

Unsure of the answer, but my leaning is towards no, here's the Elasmobranch Husbandry Manual just in case, there might be something in it that could help:

Typically, most public aquariums remove their elasmobranchs before treating with hypo. Some inshore species like Atlantic rays and lemon sharks are fine with it though. I've never tried it on a horn shark so can't say for certain.

If you did it very slowly you could go down to 1.015 but that’s about the limit. They are not estuary sharks. I agree with removing him.
