My innovative marine 10 has been set up for almost 2 years now, I never had a bad algae problem.. until recently

about 2 months ago I added an AI prime 16 hd. Using David saxby’s schedule (lowered intensity), it was fine for a few weeks.

ive had a horrible outbreak of this brown/green algae, my water is disgusting!
I’ve tried everything, 40% water changes twice a week, replacing filter pads daily, turning off the light for 48 hours, and just recently added a uv sterilizer.
I don’t know what else to do

Yes I still have the old light. Phos is around .05 fluctuations from .03-.05.

What UV sterilizer? and how long has it been on? Because a UV should be able to handle that...unless its malfunctioning or underpowered?

I agree, looks like a bacteria bloom. I would cut the lights for a day and give your u.v. a chance to get ahead of it. :)

I was going to say the exact thing. I would definitely cut the lights off for 1 day. You'll see a huge difference the next day, and it really doesn't have a huge impact on your livestock.
