Hey folks.
So I ordered two scarlet red hermit crabs from live aquaria recently but one of them was a brown fuzzy hermit. He stays mostly in his shell so he's hard to see but it looks like rounded claws, fuzzy wide almost squashed looking legs. I believe his legs have stripes. He's a reddish brown color.
I was hoping I could get an ID. I'd feel terrible having to flush him.
In the photograph here, he's barely poking out but you can see his claws. I can try to get a better photograph after I place him in my sump. Any ideas?

I'm afraid of it being not reef safe. I have no idea what it is and I'd rather play it safe than sorry.
Put him the sump. He can’t hurt anything back there. Most hermits will be reef safe. It’s emeralds and “real” crabs you have issues with normally.
