Very good lights but no mounting kit. You will need to create a mount or hang them from something.

Limited control - 2 channels only, and colors are grouped. So you can’t just increase one color if you wanted.

But, very good light that will grow sps fine.

Is your tank 48”?

Ok so here’s the problem.

Your tank is 48” long but only 13” wide

So to get more coverage out of a light, you have to increase the height. But this will cause tons of overspill because they tank is narrow.

You need a light mounted close to the surface

The viparspectra is a big light with a lot of power. If you mount it close it will cover the middle portion of the tank but won’t have the space needed to get to the ends. If you raise it higher, it’s going to be throwing light all over the floor. You would still need two of them and mount them close.

I would say the 2 noopsyche would be a better fit and they come with the mounting hardware

last one what do you think about? Ai prime 16HD reef lights
I have one on a 15g tank. Many many people have these and love them. I’m really not impressed and wish I got the noopsyche pro instead.

With aI prime you would need 3, maybe 4 for a 48” tank

Ok 48” is a long tank to light for sps on a budget of 200-300 but I know a solution that will work very well

This is @JoJosReef tank - a very very nice tank that’s about 36” and he uses 3 noopsyche k7 minis

Your tank would need 4

This would come to $335. A little over budget but close. This would be the cheapest option I feel comfortable recommending. Plus you could always start with 3 and add the 4th later on

Here is a link, they are $84 each and they come with the mounting arm

Since getting them, I would say the AI Blades are amazing for overall growth. They also keep the colouration of the corals and don’t make them look brown whilst keeping a white balance. They also don’t seem to over spill on a tank.

His budget is about 300$. How much is the lighting cost over your tank?

He would need at least two blades, and you have two blades + 2 other fixtures in between them.

It’s a good light suggestion but not within reason given the budget

If I’m honest, they’d only need 1 of the lights - The glow brings out more colours but the grow has the colours which the LFS have.

I could get away with not using the Radions but I keep them there because it’s pointless having the Radion hanging bar and not using the Radions.

Just seen the budget goes to 300, they’re nice lights but they’re certainly not the cheapest. Best place to find any light under 300 that will grow SPS is second hand.
