I have a 40g breeder. I have had it up for about 6 months. I am getting this slime that comes off easy with a turkey baster. This stuff grows like mad. I clean off a coral and the next day it is covered again. I have been dosing with API agae fix, added some nitrate and phosphate media to the tank. I am also doing a 7g water change every 3 days.

The 2nd is like hair algae. It is harder to remove and looks like dark green fuz.

Here are some pics

You need to find the source of your nutrient problem. is it the water you are using? are you over feeding?

then you need to remove your excess nutrients - refugium, nitrifying bacteria (live rock/filter media).

Then you may need to shorten your photo period 8 to 12 hours is standard. if you have more intense lighting you will need to shorten the photo period
