Out of everything i learned in the past few months the one thing I really cant figure out is flow in my tank. I have a 20g long and just added fish from my 5g. A clown and a firefish goby. I feel the the flow in my 20g is too high for them but its on its lowest setting... I put some filterfloss around the powerhead and it slowed it down alot but now im worried about my corals not having enough flow. Without the filter floss it looks like the clown is swimming rapidly nonstop. I only have one hygger dc controllable powerhead and the spot its in now is the best for where mycorals are placed. Is it possible hes just stressed from the move and im overthinking the flow? Should i remove the filter floss?

I think you are overthinking this a bit. Consider the flow in the ocean. If you have ever been SCUBA diving or even snorkeling, you know that there is a lot of flow down there. I highly doubt that there is too much flow for the fish as they can handle more than you may think. Your sand appears to be staying put and not blowing around and you have primarily LPS, your flow is fine, keep your corals happy, the fish will adapt.

Clowns are lazy fish and will find the spot they want. there is definitely a low flow spot somewhere in the tank. If the clown isn't there, it's by choice! I wouldn't worry about it at all. No floss. Your flow is great!

This is a family site. No videos of fish being swum to death allowed.
We have filter floss too! :)

byw, the still photo does show a stressed fish, IMO. How many GPH does that pump put out?

I point them towards the surface to increase oxygen exchange and reduce waterjet flow in the tank.
Hth.

"1600gph" but who knows i have it on the lowest setting and its a stationary pump i wish i could angle it towards the surface.
