Man I didn't get any updates there's been like 5 pages!

Your acans look happy. Mysis and other meaty food is the fastest way to grow them. If their color starts fading they may need a little more nutrients in the water -- it's what was happening to my friend with the same setup as you.

I just fed my acans actually, funny the first thing I see is you feeding yours

I try to teach my kids that they are animals. The best way to show them is feeding Mysis and LRS so they see for themselves these critters eat meat. My little one loves to spot feed them.

One day one of our Caulastrea heads had a full snail it was trying to swallow and I called for them to come look. We were taking bets on if he could get it down. Lucky for the snail he had it by the backside and finally gave up. I saw one once though take a small hermit all in and spit the shell out, LOL.

I actually have a long skinny PVC tube I could cut and make a very sturdy holder for it at the perfect angle. Great idea. Thanks. For some reason, I often do not think of PVC when I need to build something. It is like some weird mental block. I seem to think of it as what is flowing in the tube and not as a useful material itself for other uses.

TIME IN: 1.5 Months

Equipment List

The image below is the spreadsheet I set up for this tank (I love using spreadsheets in all aspects of life).

I use spreadsheets for everything as well. From finances to making purchasing decisions to reef tanks lol.

I had posted this recently elsewhere, but here are some examples of how I use Google Sheets. I find it less customizable than Excel, but I have it on devices.

There are others for expenditures, dimensions and charts.

EDIT: I use them for investments as well and I guess everything really.

My little one helped me spot feed the Acanthastrea LRS the morning. It is funny I thought my older daughter would be so into the tank and the younger one is the one who loves to help.

Just a well fed chunk of the tank.

Well done! I like how you have everything laid out here. I just use Evernote as it's something I have on my phone with me. Don't have time to go to the computer. With my small Biocube this works for me now, but I do assume that one day when I get my "bigger" tank, and have dosers set up, etc, I"ll probably have an excel with multiple pages to go between maintenance, and dosing schedules, etc.

Your killing me smalls lol
I was feeling good about starting aquarium note tracking my test numbers then I see this and realize how lazy I am. I used to do a loooot of spreadsheets in my former office life and really like the details you’ve included. Thanks for the inspiration to kick it up a notch and use some older skills

Thanks. There is no wrong way to do it. I am just an all or none kind of person. Plus, everyone should remember, I had a big delay getting a usable tank when I was most anxious for my build to begin. A lot of that energy was spent on creating spreadsheets, planning and extra researching just to keep my brain occupied.
