Had a scare tonight. No, not in the tank. I took a later train to work and it came in late. I decided to take a cab from there to work to be on time. As I got out I went to check my phone and realized I left it in the cab. ;Jawdrop NO!!! ;Jawdrop I started running after the cab and whistling as loud as I could (which is ear piercingly loud). He got stopped at a red light, but as I closed in (after running almost a full, long block) the light turned green. Now I am in a full sprint and whistling like a freight train. He started to make the turn at the light and I leapt, reaching after the trunk. I made it and started pounding. He slammed the brakes and I opened the door. There was my phone still lit up on an R2R page welcoming me back. LOL. Man, what a ridiculous adventure. People on the sidewalk were clapping to me in victory.

Apparently, your phone isn't as important as you think it is otherwise you would have never left it in the cab.

Okay, back to tank stuff. Spent a long time today on the tank. First, I blew off the mass of Cyanobacteria again. Then, I installed the new gyre. I also added a powerhead (until I get something “prettier”) to the other side of the tank aimed at the spot under the gyre where things typically collect. Lastly, I received the new clean up crew and added them. Trochus, Cerith, dwarf Cerith and Turbo snails with some red and blue hermits. All seemed to make the trip well from Reef Cleaners. I also got something else from them that made me very happy, but I am going to wait and see how it settles before sharing.

When I got up for work tonight, the Cyanobacteria had not returned, so the massive flow I added today is working. Lights were low so I will try to get a picture tomorrow.

I am going away tomorrow to Buffalo with the girls for my nephew’s graduation. May not be around much this weekend, but I will miss you all.

BTW, I was running the old gyre at 70% random so I put the new one in at 60%. Had to lower it to 50% it was so much flow new, out of the box. Amazing how well gyres work. LEDs and gyres are definitely my favorite additions to reefing since I returned. Oh, I cannot forget simple ATOs!

Sorry @NY_Caveman for not staying caught up, work and exams and studying for orals has been insane. I had three wave makers go out at once and had them last Thursday (maybe Saturday), but I still havnt had time to put them in or clean my glass. That is the main plan tomorrow and fix my sand bed again lol. Need to increase my cuc and thinking 20 turbo snails and a few emeralds. No hermits they are mean. I’m still catching up but promise to do better.
