I received a box of rocks today.

Recent additions are doing well.

For fun, here is a chart of my Alkalinity dosing amounts for the past four months. The acceleration is tough to keep up with, but I am not complaining.

I try to stay at 8.5 dKH.

Thanks! I am actually thinking of increasing slightly. Like another 10% total intensity over 2-3 weeks. All around would like a little more for the anemone, SPS and along the bottom.

He came in pretty cold and I picked him up at the FedEx hub too. He is out all day now, but I have yet to confirm he is eating unfortunately. I assume he prefers the living critters like pods in the tank.

I was working on the taxes and thought my time might be more fun spent putting together some SPS growth pictures. Well, I did not finish either endeavour, so for now, here are some current SPS from the top down. The serious encrusting continues. When they decide to grow vertical, the tank is going to be full of rich color. No rush, keep encrusting as long as you wish.

Bonsai valida
The light colored ring on the encrusting is not the lights. It grew like this during a slight Alkalinity drop and then resumed a darker hue.

I love the color difference between the encrusting and the growth. Looks like two corals.

Miyagi Tortuoso (and Candy Flame)
This one actually is two corals. You almost miss the Candy Flame under the Miyagi in a top down shot. They are actually not as close as they appear here.

Hopefully I will start getting some comparison shots up tomorrow. Wait, it is tomorrow. Well, you know what I mean. Have a great Sunday all!

A couple of FTS from today. Everything looks so clean in the tank after giving it some love this weekend.

Well, the glass still needs a hard razor scraping, but the rocks and floor are much cleaner.

The midas blenny looks great under those lights!

Gotta love the way a tank looks after some real TLC. Much more rewarding than a bathroom cleaning.

Coral Growth - BC Battlejuice

I wanted to post some coral growth pictures to help me keep track. After thinking and trying a few things I decided to do these one coral at a time using individual images. Tonight’s entry is the BattleCorals Battlejuice. The frag has really colored up. At first it started slow, but has really been encrusting well since the beginning of 2019. PAR ~240, good random flow.

This was one I only had a few images of, so it was a good test for me. More corals to follow during the rest of the week.

Coral Growth - Bonsai valida

This Bonsai valida has barely grown vertical at all, but it has been one of the fastest encrusters of all our SPS. PAR 280, strong random flow.
