I think I just killed my new torch :(

Got a beautiful new torch coral. I wanted to take it off the plug because I hate the way they look. Got a sharp chisel and got it right at the base like I've done before with no issues. Well the whole body crumbled it's still together, but loosely. Is there any way this can survive or did I just murder it?

Sounds like it came from a low cal/ alk tank.

Keep an eye on it and blow stuff Off of it to reduce the risk of bacterial infection.

lol I thought that one looked worse. Corals confuse me. Just droopy because the body isn't all together to support it? Anything I can do to help it along?

Try super glue to hold the body together and see what happen.

I think the "optimist" has a bubble in it.

I have heard that "wall" type Euphyllia are more challenging than the branching types. Hope this fellow recovers for you!

So I have noticed a few actual dead polyps on the torch this morning. Completely brown and dead. Do I just leave these be or what? The rest seems to look a little less stressed than yesterday.

I would leave them, might do more damage removing them.
Did you try super gluing the base?
