So I was doing some general cleaning in my tank, and decided I wanted to move things around, to my surprise I found this pretty thing hanging around. So I moved it to better lighting and flow. I have a bunch of softies in tank and I dose reef roids weekly.
Any idea what it is?

Wow if it is an anemone, that’s super lucky. I definitely want to try and feed it some shrimp when I get home lol
They don’t require to be fed .
I have 2 I is dull coloured like the picture posted ( it hides in the rocks )
The one at the top is very dark with reds , greens etc .
It will colour up with lighting

I’ve had multiple rocks from local hobbyists and some of them are old rocks that I let dry out in my garage!
Well that's a pretty awesome hitchhiker for sure.

This would not have been from a rock that dried out. More than likely a baby that was in a crevasse or hole undetected.

Yeah I would definitely be putting it in my feeding rotation.
I always wanted an anemone for the sole purpose of feeding it. It’s funny too cause my clowns have hosted in a cluster of zoas in the back of my tank. I know they don’t normally host on mini carpets, but hey I’m about to do the whole print a picture and show them how to thing haha

I wouldn't get too excited, it's possible but not likely.

Carpets look like mushrooms when they eat, can totally ball up and look like an onion
