Ok. I know there are plenty of threads on this issue. My question, it's been nine days, I've double dosed ick attack, soaked the food in garlic juice and selcon. He is still eating like a pig but he looks terrible. Where there were white spots from ich, they've turned into black "scars" and and now the white spots are back in different places than the black scars. It's not black ich because these black spots are exactly where the white spots were so it's probably the second go around with the next batch of ich that "hatched." Now the question, Lol, How long can this go on before I don't see any white spots again OR he meets his demise? The two other inhabitants fine. The corals are all fine. Can't get him out of the DT so I have to continue with treating him in the DT. No lectures about the importance of a QT please. Thanks in advance

Black spots may be black ich often associated with Tangs and surgeonfish deriving from tuberella worms and require specific treatment for success. BUT . . . we need to verify what it is for which Pictures under white light will be helpful in assessment.

Keto in mind what I'm saying guys. Where there are black spots there once were white spots. It's not black ich from pics on line. These are very defined spots. Black ich are worms are not pinpoints.
