holy crikey. I've had ich in the tank before, no losses like this though. All fish went through QT and were good till I added some snails. odds of introducing ich like this, likely next to none, but it seemed to work - that or there was a straggler. either way, can someone confirm this is ich - in the last week i have lost a potters angel, Royal Gramma, clown, yellow assessor. The only one that showed significant issues was the Gramma which looked to have a bacterial infection. I've been able to get the foxface out and a cleaner wrasse who is hanging on by a fin. Still have 3 fish left - yellow tang, had signs, looks better, fairy wrasse and a very shy whitejaw cardinal fish.

a trap is on order, hopefully it is here next week!

thanks for helping and letting me vent a bit :)

I found out about this stuff today. I lost a few fish to ich awhile back. I have studied up on ich a bunch when i was fighting it but never found this stuff.
The guy that owns Cheezy Coral in New Albany swears by it. He has like 10 tangs in one of his frag tanks and said they all had it and after using this it was gone in 4 days and did not loose a fish. I have not used it myself but am getting some to have on hand since i am getting a few tangs and we all know they are ich magnets.

Hard to tell from your picture. Can you get a closer pic? Could be you are dealing with both Ich and velvet. Try looking at the Foxface at an angle with a small, bright flashlight. Look for the dusty sheen of velvet.

Got a few more pictures, closer look thinking it could be velvet. Harder to tell with the fairy wrasse, tang is more prominent.

fresh water dip and into 1.32 copper power. Not a fan of harsh run like that, thinking it’s the best course of action without having reef rally available.

Indeed looks like velvet, gotta move quick with treatment. There is a great thread about treatment on here somewhere. I will see if I can find it. I was told if you can count the spots it is ich, if there are to many to count, it is velvet...

wrasse is rebounding from the freshwater dip and moving into 1.32 copper. tomorrow morning I'll move to 1.5 and edge up from there. White jaw cardinal fish is drip acclimating to the copper (really don't want to loose him). unfortunately I'm pretty sure the tang knows the trap is just that, a trap.

Unfortunately you may have to move some rocks
