Helped my mom set up a reef tank went to her house today and was looking at her fish kind of looked like her black snow flake has ich but I’m not 100% positive. If so would kick ich be a good remedy ? Never used but have heard it’s reef safe

Brooklynella (early stage which is good)
Best recourse for treatment is to begin with freshwater bath followed by Formalin baths.(Typically a standard formalin solution is mixed with either fresh or saltwater in a separate treatment container). Formalin is 37% formaldehyde based and best ones are general cure and ruby rally pro. I like ruby rally
The longer the fish are exposed to the formalin treatment, the more effective it will be at eliminating this disease.

I would highly suggest getting a small QT setup for things like this. It's relatively low maintenance as long as you clean properly after giving different medications. I run two different QT systems. One is for new fish coming into my system and the other is for sick/infected fish that have already been in my system. The first is a 20g long. The second is a 10g. Bare bottom, pvc, hang-on-the-back filter, heater, ammonia alert badge.... that's about it. (this is all my preference, of course. some people run a QT differently.)

If you have a large chain pet store/fish store nearby, they usually run a $1 per gallon sale on their smaller tanks. I got both of mine from Petco and Petsmart.

Brook spends its whole lifecycle on the fish. However, it could drop off into the water column and rapidly infect another fish. It's not like ich, how it drops off and spends some of its life in the sand, etc.

6 weeks fallow for brooklynella. 76 days fallow for all strains of ich. Just to be safe, I would make it the full 76 days as @vetteguy53081 stated.

I know the feeling. I refuse to make any comments on here from my phone. The number of typos or obscure things that might show up would be horrendous.
