Just got home from work and the 1st thing that I noticed is my blue line goby has spots all over him. He was fine last night. Can someone help identify whether it’s ich or not. Thanks in advance

It’s crazy because he was completely fine last night. Unfortunately I don’t have enough water on hand to qt him right now and my lfs is closed today. I do have some garlic on hand that I was going to feed the tank with until tomorrow. Good/bad idea?

Thanks. Any suggestions for what I can do until I can get my qt set up tomorrow?

Ich is now in your tank and it will be there pretty much forever unless you run it fallow and QT all your fish for at least a 10 weeks. You will also need to up the flow in the main tank and routinely direct flow into low-to-no-flow zones.

Option #2 is you live with it in your main tank and manage the disease. This is the option most people go with once ich hits their tank. This typically involves adding a quality UV to the tank, keeping the params stable and feeding a quality diet. Some dose CP in a QT tank if a fish has a particularly nasty outbreak for a few days.
