So it's been about two weeks since I added copper safe to my 10 gallon hospital tank after my angelfish and my teardrop butterfly showed signs of ick all the fish were clear of any white spots The next day. Two days ago I did a complete water change emptying the entire hospital tank and rinsing the tank itself out with vinegar. This morning I woke up and my blue girdle angelfish has one spot on him nobody else has anything. Yet ? I don't have a copper test kit which I will get so I figured the complete water change and new dose of copper would help.

Two problems:
  1. You need a copper test kit to ensure your copper level is staying within therapeutic range for whatever product you are using: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/copper-test-kits.257924/
  2. Once copper reaches therapeutic, it must be maintained (never dropping) for at least 30 days. So, when doing a water change any replacement water must be pretreated with copper so the Cu level in the quarantine tank DOES NOT FLUCTUATE.

Do you mean tetra safestart? That's a freshwater bacteria to jump start cycling tanks. All of your fish need to remain in copper treatment for 30 days. Removing them will reset the clock.

That almost looks like lymph -- I see what may be velvet or ich on the face though? Or is that a camera trick?

So in the link it says to add the metro to the food can I dose the whole tank ? Or only by medicating the food ? Can I use the API general cure with my copper and prazi in the tank already to treat brook ?

For brook (external parasite), you would dose metro into the water. You only food soak if treating an internal parasite/worm.

You will want to remove all the Prazipro before dosing GC, as the latter also contains prazi.

How do I remove all the prazi pro without removing the copper

Running carbon for 24 hrs will remove all the prazi while having minimal impact on the copper. You'll probably still have to raise it back up though.

Ok so now I’m getting close to the 30 day mark. After the 30 days what? Run carbon to remove meds then just observe? For how long?
