Hi, I've had these Dino looking algae for a few months already, albeit in a much lower amount and intensity.

When the lights are out / or there is not much ambient light they disappear. They seem to only localize on the sandbed.
This week I added mangroves + 2 grow lights, which leak white light on the sandbed -- exactly where the algae seem to be worsening.
I also did an ICP test two weeks ago: the RO water had 0 Silicates.

  • P04: 0.6
I'm about to purchase a cheapo USB-microscope to exactly ID it, would something like this suffice? Or would a regular microscope be better?
