This is a montipora frag I got from a pack, it had some die off and alage on it. I have noticed as well there seems to be somthing that is living inside were some of the polyps had been.

Any idea what this is? I tried to get a good photo but it's very hard. They have two antenna coming out.

Vermetids. I’d remove them. They multiply and can irritate the coral with its mucous net.

I don't think those are vermetids, they have spiraled tubes that they create and those look like they are bored into the coral itself. They also have long antennas, vermetids have short ones and spit out a mucous web. Look up Spionid worms, I think that's what you are dealing with.

My assumption is they are removed the same way, superglue the hole they live in. Your coral will grow over the caps of glue.

The 2 antennas you see are Palps which are mucus like feeding tubes of a spionid worm.

Doing some research on Spionid Worms I found an article talking about the Boring version of these. It appears they can be very damaging as the boring throughout the core itself and can make it very brittle and attack lots of SPS corals. I know on the frag pictured originally it seems like glueing only sometimes works as they end up poping back up out of other polyps later in the frag. I have taken a good piece of it off now that appears uninfected to try and save some should I have to toss this frag.

Well I tired FlatWorm Exit for 30 minutes with the frag at a 7.5x overdose! Noda.. Little buggers came out 30 minutes later poking their two horns out. Going to try Prazi Pro next...
