Hey everyone, just picked up some Trochus snails from Top Shelf Aquatics. The snails have a layer of fuzzy red algae. Any idea what it is and if I should scrub them before going in the DT?

Dip a toothbrush in Peroxide and brush off. Its a combo of cyano and turf algae and one you do not want to get established in your tank

So it was just red turf algae. I took a wire brush to them and cleaned them up. I put them in the DT. My dwarf Cerith snails immediately starting cleaning what was left on them. And the Trochus snails already starting eating the green cyano on my sand bed. All is good.
