Hi guys..
Looking for some help identifying the white spots on the fish..
We have been through ***** and back, first had to cycle the tank with the fish, then our cycled 75gal DT leaked and had to be taken down. Fish are now living in the cycled QT. Happily.

Today I noticed white spots on the tomini tang and the yellow wrasse.. the wrasse you can only see the white under the blue night light, but tomini you can clearly see the white on her face.
They're not perfect dots like ich seems to be slim wondering if it's brook instead?? Need help IDing so I can ensure the right treatment. After all we've been through I can't lose these guys to something like this

Sorry, it's hard to get pics of videos of these shy guys lol 16675781125953588199152586083300.jpg 16675781322559117888773025784234.jpg 16675781945418806959661573263806.jpg

No medication. I did a 100% water change lastnight and scrubbed the entire tank. They're breathing and behaving normally

The tang has hlle - I’m not seeing any ich, brook, or velvet spots. Try to get pics of the wrasse.
I see the spots she is talking about. I think it also has HLLE - and also looks 'thin'. I would be treating with copper and prazipro per the usual protocol - feeding well - ensuring water quality etc. BTW - HLLE is a disease - seen on many varieties of fish - more often on tangs it seems and angelfish. It's a gradual whitening of the face - which can be spotty (though IMHO - not the spots you're seeing) that then can extend down the 'lateral line'. I totally agree with @sharkbait - that (HLLE - Head and Lateral Line Erosion) - is present - possibly in addition to another problem.

Bacterial tufts and HLLE and both happen to be associated with poor water quality. Poor water quality is as simple as lack of maintenance, elevated ammonia and/or nitrate. Also with HLLE, a vitamin deficiency is a contributor and not so much on terms of vitamins but feeding foods that lack needed content especially pellets and flakes. They need fats and aminos and certain foods such as those below have good content for their nutritional requirements .
What is current ammonia and nitrate readings what is age of tank ?
There is a lot of sediment in the picture and the net like item I assume is bio-media should be in the path of running water /filter. In the tank Not ideal

-Spirulina brine shrimp
- LRS Herbivore diet
- mysis shrimp
- small plankton
- Nori seaweed basted with garlic extract
- Hikari Marine cuisine
- Formula 2 flake and frozen
- Hikari veggie marine

Add selcon vitamins to the foods 2-3X per week and on alternating days, garlic extract for stamina and immunity health

Water changes and good water quality management will address what you have. You may if it does not subside treat the tang in quarantine with Seachem Kanaplex or Maracyn 2 for at least 5 days and provide added oxygen via air stone

As mentioned - have you treated them with anything yet? From what I can see, the tomini has HLLE, but the yellow wrasse has something else - the white lesions over its body could be bacterial, or even flukes. I didn't see any small white spots on either fish - but they could be there and just not visible in the pics/video.

Thank you all for your replies!
Unfortunately the wrasse decided to jump out of the teeny tiny space between the light and filter and is no longer with us.
So I do believe it is HLLE as you all suggested on the tang, she is already doing much better!
She started eating the krill we were giving to the puffer, and I took the bag of media out as suggested and the tank is SO much cleaner! Meaning the water quality is much better.
I haven't treated them with anything. Just using prime to ensure any ammonia etc isn't hurting them.. allowing me to leave seaweed in the tank longer too for tang to munch on. She's looking cleaner and fatter already.

That's the hard part. Params are all good. Puff looks good, but she did this little speed burst twitch that the tang was doing when she wasn't well..
I checked our big tank again and it seems cycled. So I'm acclimating puff and switching her over today!! Hopefully the algae bloom and bacteria if present stays behind in the little tank

Doing some research there is a possibility this was the issue... The tang had dark spots all over her body Which could have been the flukes.. There was also an algae Bloom causing the water to turn green I've been doing steady water changes but I just can't beat it. Now I'm afraid to put puff in the new tank and just infect that 1 with flukes too... Puff has been a little left AR jacket today lying on the bottom instead of floating to sleep but also floating near the top when she's awake
