I just purchased a full setup with this coral.
The owner said, he bought it as a frag and did not know the name.

Thanks to all.

Wish I could remember the name of this stuff. I had it a long time ago in my tank but it plated/encrusted. Its almost like a type of fire coral, really invasive. Mine showed up as a hitchhiker.

Thank you to all.

I now believe this is as purple version of the blue ridge coral.

Because of the waxy, leather layer on the skin. Describe in tidal gardens website.

Thank you to all my Reefing friends in the search for this corals name.

This coral had me stunned because of itself looks. Plating out with thin finger like branches.

Looks like over time the branches fuses together.
Creating the ridge like images.

Apparently if I frag it, I should see blue inside the skeleton. When it acclimated and looking good I'll have to take a snip just to be certain.

Once again thanks to all!
