ID?

New live rock. This has been on here and I thought maybe it's just a sponge and it didn't look like is was dying so I left it on there because it looked interesting. Now today there is a little thing poking out..like filter feeding maybe? I thought maybe a tunicate but it looks spongy material. TIA! Sorry for the bad pic. Its more of a tan color in the tank.

The whole thing? Or thing sticking out? The thing sticking out- ya but im not sure if its just from tank flow
