I’m not a huge fan of the ph, or the phosphate from salifert. The ph is hard to interpret, and the phosphate is just not sensitive. Hard to follow trends by how light blue the colors are.

I like the other tests by them tho, just my 2 cents

I picked alk, but alk is also the most common to be auto tested. If I had an alk tester it would be the phosphate UL tester.

For phosphate (or phosphorus), hanna is imho best on the market, period. Either the phosphate ULR one or phosphorus ULR one, both pretty much the same.

The alk and HR nitrate (0 to 75ppm, not listed) hanna test "eggs" are also good but other options are fine so it's not so much of a curb-stomping. Nitrate LR (0 to 5ppm, listed) is too time-consuming and not worthwhile.

Hanna pH meter is great, pH calorimeter (egg-shape) is utter crap.

I like the salinity meter but it's not much different from other options.

Hanna calcium is a pita and I'm not a fan. I've never tried the ammonia one.

Just my opinions, lol. Flame me if you must but this is my experience.

Before getting the KH Director I would have said that the alkalinity tester was my essential Hanna tester. Now that merit corresponds to the URL Phosphorus one.

Salinity/temp probe saves a lot of time (take 3 readings to let it settle down.)

The Phosphate ULR and Nitrate HR avoid having to peer at colour charts for 1/2 an hour, wracked with indecision.

Salifert for KH, Ca, & Mg.
