If you were to buy used rock, would you prefer to buy live or dried?

I have about 50-75lbs of live base rock (been in a brute for a year or so) and looking to eventually sell it, was wondering if I should try to sell it live or dry it out and sell it dry. So if you as a hobbiest were to buy rock from another hobbiest, what would you prefer to buy.

Probably live if it wasn’t infested with anything bad !! That would be the preference but have you been feeding the bacteria in that container for a year ?? Is it really live ???
As bacteria die they should provide nutrients for the survivors, thus maintaining a lower population, but a population never the less.

Isn’t all rock “used”?

In that case I wouldn’t think I’d pay much more than dry . Had you been feeding it and i was in the market for live rock I wouldn’t mind paying a bit more but after a year with no nutrient added to increase the bacteria count not sure I’d jump on it .

I guess technically lol

Haven’t been feeding it but it’s had circulating water. So likely just a diminished bacterial population.

Thanks for the feedback. I wouldn’t be able to do this as it’s just collected rock from tank breakdowns. Never been in my tank

If it was actually live rock that's been in systems and pulled out from breakdowns, maintained appropriately with water changes, heat, heat circulation and an ammonia source, and not riddled with pests, why not.

If it was dry rock that has been cooking in a brute for a year, or not maintained, it's about worthless to me.
