3/4 maple ply, no internal frame
I had this loose fit to check for issues before I glued and drilled for pocket screws. Then I let it sit for a few weeks for no reason other than being lazy. Today I had one cup of coffee too many. Time to get some things done.
Pulled it apart and drilled all my pocket screw holes out. These are not joints and stand alone I would never trust them long term. More than anything they hold it together while the glue dries.
with all but one side installed I fit a shelf inside; 8 inches bottom, 19 inches of vertical space on the shelf. I don’t use a sump so I didn’t need to make space for that. But I do use an ATO so there has to be room for that reservoir up high.
I also decided to do a single panel door with magnets for closures and no hinges. So I set the stops for those as well.
Tomorrow I plan on installing all the wire bezels, cutting a slot for my power supply so that the switches are accessible without going into the stand, trim work, and conditioning before I stain it.
I also decided to use a 3.5” inset on the back as a place for wire access and organization. Sloppy wires make me stress.
