Running the reef mat with the pump still at 100%. Using about 2” an hour so far. I have the advancement on smallest amount and the RM is mounted about high as possible so the roll is pulling out junk I had no idea was there.

I have to say the RM has really exceeded my expectations. Will see about longevity now. I could see someone that had a full reef adding a bypass to let some material pass if they wanted to keep particulate matter in but wow - it’s amazing

Hatched some baby brine for the angel, seems to like it! Also picking at frozen. I put some paper towel over the back glass, this seems to have calmed him down a lot, I think he was trying to get into the dark places behind the tank. He isn’t quite sure how to eat bbs yet but I’m sure he is picking them in the video I’ll post since I have not seen that behavior before. Fresh hatched bbs is quite nutritious in the 1st 24hr so hopefully this will get him settled in and happy!

Little guy is taking reef nutrition TDO x small pellets thankfully! So should be pretty easy to condition and get some size on him in the next few months.

Since I noticed them in stock which isn’t often, decided to sub out the flame angel for a CB Multibar from biota and will drop the 8 line butterfly fish off the list. Will be interesting to see if eats and comes in as well as the cb goldflake. I’ll hatch some bbs for it to have ready Friday when it arrives.

stock photo for now off biota

Multibar arrived today. Looks good. Added bbs so hopefully it will feel comfortable with a snack. Will put a mirror for the goldflake for a bit, not bad aggression but want it to settle in. Tiny guy.

Huge credit to biota and bali-aquarich for breeding and import. Just a couple hours and I have seen the Multibar eat tdo pellets and bbs!!! Unheard of with wilds. Of course keeping it healthy falls on me now, but so exciting to have one doing so well right off. I have not tried other pellets, but happy reef nutrition launched these pellets. After being in the hobby a while it’s rewarding to see captive breeding and improved quality of food leading to keeping species that were before extremely difficult.

2" an hour works out to about 23 days for a 500 roll. Good to know a starting point.

Fwiw it’s slowed to bit over 1” per hour but I don’t have a lot in the sump yet, but it was dirty. Interesting to see the changes

Picked up some rock to get cycling. These prebuilt structures are just so much easier.

Art Reef Rocks from aquatic sealife. Will be interesting to see what they are like. I think modular with rods that support the parts.

$500 shipped isn’t too crazy if they are as nice as they seem.

Noticed biota has CB Radial filefish in stock which is on my stock list so ordered 3 of those and a small Mandarin to fill out the order for free shipping. I had a tiny cb mandarin before and it did great but sold it with my last system. This pretty much rounds out the stocking cb fish and the rest will be butterflies and a wrasse but will need to wait until have the system running and hopefully get those from dr reef and those not will have to go though TTM.

Didn’t plan on going this fast but it’s just too fun!

Angels also eating tiny Probiotic pellets which is great. The goldflake chases the Multibar but not excessive thankfully.

Got a call from innovative marine, the tank was expected end of august….

But it’s in now!!! So they will call me again to talk over the freight process and then the freight company will call. So I’m glad I got stock small stock already and set up the reefmat and bought the rock since it’s going to be sooner than later!
