Hart has a pretty open aquascape with minimalistic rock work design. I wonder if that will also help the zebra dart fish remain more visible.
Oh I missed these posts!

yeah there is a concern they will hide. My last build with chalk bass they all hid until I added some wrasse which gave them confidence to come out. We will see.

Friday update. No fish this week, that many probably is going to take dr reef a while to get.

Diamond goby still living his best life. With peroxide and uv still in force he should be well out of the danger zone by now.

ordered some softies from tsa and vivid. Not sure when they will arrive, I thought this week but no email.

the head I cut off the big willow is doing well, the base rotted away which I have seen them regrow heads but that’s ok, the stalk was pretty ugly. Urchins and blowing off rock seems to be finally cleaning it up, takes a long time to get to a good balance there.

other softies opening more, the goni still are fully open and happy. Funny the two stony do the best. Increasing alk to around 10dkh slowly from nsw because I don’t dose kalk now (no stonys) and disconnected outside air to skimmer so keeping higher alk will help with ph. It has been dropping to the 7.7 or less range and I don’t want the sand to dissolve.

softies ordered. The only real fancy one is a fiji yellow. Had one years ago and it was hard to keep. Gave it to my friend that still has it. That was a real fiji. I think these now are same species but different location and not as yellow

Can you PLEASE add a toadstool leather? That’s my favorite softy!

(you don’t have to if you don’t like them, of course.)

It’s been 2.5 weeks since I added a test group of sissortail and black Molly in sump as a velvet control test. Still dosing 70ml peroxide daily and UV.

dartfish good, goby good, Molly good. Fingers crossed velvet has been at least contained with this method. Will keep monitoring everyone. Added last week a striped dartfish and two blue gudgeon dartfish after a 30min 150ppm peroxide bath. While skittish still they have all been spotted eating.

I would never be able to get the Diamond out without complete tear down so tried the peroxide method and seems to be working so far. After this amount of time I might be in the clear for velvet at least.

Oh yea I set up the awc again. I wasn’t going to use it for fish only but figured might as well for softies, it’s all there just needed to plug back in. Won’t change much a day, but figure they will appreciate it.

It will be interesting to see what these are like. I expect some duplicates but worth it to me to try and get some variation with a softie tank which isn’t easy
