New IM 200 Peninsula build. This is my new build. Had an idea of a bare bottom/ sand bed hybrid. Built a riser of expanded PVC and then coated it in aquarium epoxy then covereD the last layer in sand. Figured it would allow me to keep the area under the rockwork clean while giving my jawfish and some wrasses a place to live.

Built the riser out of 3 sheets of .5 inch expanded PVC board and then coated in aquarium epoxy as seen here

Glued them together with regular PVC glue, then encased the whole piece in epoxy resin to make sure there was no leaching of chemicals. The idea was I could run a pump 3-4 times a day to clean out the detritus and still have a home for my jawfish.

Will put sand around the riser to give a nearly 2" sand bed for the livestock while being able to blow detritus out from under the rockwork.
