It is really a nice set up!!
Just our little suggestion for the waste tank, since the waste tank will not be open look, in order to prevent waste tank flooded, you can use our Smart Level Security for it. :)
Oh yeah! I didnt even think about that... Looking into it now!

Since this would cut power to the SmartAWC Duo, will the SmartAWC Duo lose its settings when it does?

The setting will still keep as power is cut off.
Only the QST of ATO will be cleared and need to refill again to record the first refill time. (QST of AWC won't be cleared) :)

Love the build! I have a question about auto water change though. What if you don't need to change water? Is the water change based on a time schedule or parameters?

I have not done a water change in 6 weeks.
Our AWC can set into 3 mode: manual, AUTO, and off.
- Off: Turn the AWC off if you don't need it. It won't do AWC until you turn on.
- Manual : Do a one time AWC as you request.
- AUTO : You can set a periodic time by setting the "day : hour "(Max. 99D:23H)
For example, if you set 08D:00H, it will do AWC every 8 days after and periodic.

Nice, thank you. Does it do power management as well? Like turn off my ATO, heater and return pump during auto changes?

Since it is itself the ATO for me at least it does shut that off... But I dont think i will need to shut off return or heater as I plan on doing very small daily changes... Im talking like 1/4 - 1/3 of a gallon. That small amount shouldnt drop the water level enough to mess with heater or return.

Take this with a grain of salt as I dont even have water in the tank so this is all theory.

Nope, I totally support micro daily water changes. Makes sense.

1. Don't need to turn off the return pump during AWC.
2. If the heater is all inside the water in the lowest water level, don't need to turn off the heater.
3. If you have extra ATO, please turn off ATO when doing AWC. Since our AWC Duo is ATO+AWC in one, we suggest don't have to use extra ATO product for it. Otherwise, you might need to set the extra ATO level sensor as same level to our AWC blue sensor.

Hope this can help you~ :)
