I think I'm about to have to frag the bottom head cause it's being shaded so it's not extending right. Lights are just kicking on usually it looks like one big fat head.

I’m not sure what my actual first coral was but my first sps was this purple monti cap that I didn’t know was purple at first lol. Now it’s about 10” across.

that's some insane Growth right there! impressive!

Do you mind sharing little about your tank parameters when you and when you thought is was safe to add the sps (monti) to your reef? I.E how long it was going for and what you think your doing right in your reef to make it grow so well.

Actually looking back at it, I would say I wasn't ready for any sps yet. I never had tested anything other than ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. Despite my ignorance, the coral pulled through and grew as I grew in the hobby. I didn't see the purple color come out until I started to improve my lighting, flow, and water parameters.

Well I borrowed a friend's PAR meter and found that it was getting about 75 PAR with my Current USA lights. I upgraded to a Maxspect Razor 150w and slowly ramped up the PAR until it was at about 250.
