i have a 2 gallon tank and the coral i have are 3 colonies of zoanthids, and two colonies that joined together of green star coral. i have three blue legged hermit crabs in there as well as well as a pretty good piece of live rock. I was thinking about a frag of some kind of pom pom coral. what do y'all think?

Look into some of the clove polyps
But a nice pulsing xenia adds great movement :)

Clive polyps would scare me in a large tank let alone a small one. They grow crazy quick and can be invasive. Often more invasive than Green Star Polyps

I would be careful with the clove and Xenia. I put some of both in my small 28 gallon tank, and now they have taken over completely. Attached is a before and after of when the softies took over.

I’d also be cautious with the Xenia. But if you keep it well trimmed you’ll be fine. You just have to keep up with it

Hey so if your looking for something relatively easy to keep, cheaper, and would add some nice flow. I recommend a hammer or torch coral. It would be a nice center piece for your 2 gallon tank. Im guessing you probably got enough light for the coral. here is a older pic of my purple tip.

It grows relatively fast(for me anyways), doesn't need a lot of flow and these are probably getting 100-200 par so not super hard to care for. Cost around 20-30 dollars a head so you can probably find a nice piece from a local reefer

do you think a torch coral frag would grow fast enough to take over my zoa colonies?

I don't believe so. I hear torches are slow growers...also if they grow big real easy to frag them to the size you want. Make sure you get the BRANCHING variety if you go with a euphillia coral :)
