Hi everyone my name is Lennox or ox100 I've been on the forum researching and watching and learning for the past year i've wanted a saltwater tank since I was a little boy watching Jacques Cousteau on channel 13 i've had a number of tanks all threw out my life my most recent tank was a 106 gallon chiclid tank I do mostly watching and researching on here as I think I'm to busy to write up a build thread but here I am lol I would like to thank all the people that have help me a long the way here on the forum from resealing my 25 year old tank to building my stand/sump and I plan to pay it forward as much as possible my current setup is 106 gallon tank /thirty gallon home made sump but I plan on redoing it or purchasing a icecap 24 sump as for lights the plan for now is to go t5 and three red sea 90watt led i'm currently three weeks in to my cycle and loving it I will try my best with update and progress and for sure my fails/problems sorry for no punctuation I'm just to busy watching my tank with nothing in it lol oh here's some pictures of my Journey Happy reefing

Update. So i'm about three weeks into my cycle not much happening nitrate high and nitrite lowering so I seeing my water is evaporating kind quick the tank with baffles is not working well think its time to upgrade to a real sump I'm thinking the (icecap 24 sump) which mean I need to redo some of my piping thank god I have unions everywhere also on the return line the 90 elbows are getting replaced with 45's on the corners picture coming this weekend

Hey guy's time for an update I totally forgot to mention in the last update my son and I are doing and open source controller using reef pi and my raspberry pi4. just came thanks Amazon prime this is about to get fun

It's update time. So the Raspberry pie controller is coming along I'm still Gathering parts I'm waiting for Amazon to come right now with a relay board for the pie also my son is currently printing cases on the 3D printer I also got a 20 gallon qt tank that about to go online as for the display tank well!!! The tank was cycled and ready to go I made a mistake and did a 50% water change Instead of a 20% water change and lowered the salinity by a bit sitting at 1.010 currently and guess who ran out of salt. Me so now I have to wait till Tuesday for my order of esv ionic to get here but all in all everything is well. Happy Reefing

Quick update: I've so busy with work and work around the house it been a minute so the tank is up and running all parameters are were they should be we have three pajama Cardinals and four astrea snails two peppermint shrimp was three but one got killed by a powerhead I think? the pi-controller my son and I are working on is coming along but not done yet and I'm about to redo some of the pumping for a new ice cap 24 sump I picked up. Happy reefing and stay safe this covid19/ Corona pandemic is crazy

@Ox100 im interested in what you are using the raspberry pi for. i was thinking about using one for analysis of temp, ph and other elements. any details on the controller?

No algae at all i choose to start the tank without light's so i'm good and the tank sit in front of a large living room window

My PI project is half way done i will show everyone once it's done my plan is to make it apex like with a camera

Quick update. Hey reefer hope all is well and everyone is working and hanging in there the state of the world has changed alot since my last update the Raspberry pi controller is coming along I got pic's the tank is doing really well I'm do a water change this coming weekend stocking wise we now have two peppermint shrimp one cleaner shrimp two mocha clown fish three pajama Cardinals fish XL-Royal Gramma fish and acouple of snails I just got around to ordering the plumbing for the sump I had to redo the return line set up as far as lighting I'm going with T5/l.e.d setup not sure which l.e.d yet I'm looking at Red Sea 90 l.e.d till next time Reefers Happy Reefing
