I have a 150 gallon 72" tank and am looking at ordering a couple of the new Jebao RW pumps...

I have read these pumps are running way above their ratings

New Wireless pumps from Jebao RW-8 & RW-15 - Page 11 - Reef Central Online Community

They are to my understanding 10v to 24v pumps... Here is my question?

I believe the apex runs the pumps at 10v... will this underpower the factory settings of the jebao pumps?

I want to order a couple of these and run them with my new apex system but don't want to order

to small or too large of a pump

thanx in advance

I've had both the RW15s & 8s.
I would go with two on a 6 ft Tank.
No need to really hook them up to the APEX.
Use one as master & the other as slave and no worries about power loss.

I have been looking at these pumps for a little while. All great reviews. The 10-24v is the power supplied directly to the pump by the power supply, not the apex. The apex will supply the voltage to adjust or dim the flow. you will have to have a harness or adapter to convert the apex's 10v to 5v before you can get it to work, since the pump takes 5v to regulate the power.

I use two of the RW15's in my 72" 150. They sync up instantly and I don't have to run them full blast. The RW8 would work too, but the flow would be a bit narrower.

Would you go through the hassle and expense of hooking up to the apex or just run on the stock controller?

I have/run two of the RW-15's on my 125g (60x24x20) very pleased with their output/control and they are more than enough flow for even a 180g. The stock controllers are great and sync up well, mine are set up in a counter clockwise Gyre fashion with the left (pointing to the front center) Master set on W1 and speed 6 and the back right ( pointed along back wall) Slave running at speed 3. I have thought about getting a RW-4 to place hidden on back wall.........

Cheers, Todd

I have purchased that jebao module to hook it into the apex. Everything I have read on that little module is that it never works. Have yet to figure it out. Little side note I'm not really that good with computer and programming things so this could be fun to try an make the jebao controller module work. On the other hand it was only $35 so if I decide not to use it no biggie.

Google Torx's Jebao harness...you will find tons of info on using your Apex to control your Jebao products. I run 2 WP 40's and a DC12000 all with that DIY harness.

I guess i would really like to figure it out and try to get the module working. if i get it to work then i might think about buying another RW power head since it can control two. My co-worker just bought a used apex and his controller had one of those modules hooked up so he left the program in there. I am hoping to figure it out cuz the guy my co-worker bought his apex from say he had two of those jebao module and both work awesome. I guess i just have to try and figure it out. So if anyone has any ideas on how to begin to program it i would like to hear about it. Thanks
