Here you go, as promised, side by side of Peng's Heart of the Ocean and Oregon Tort. You can definitely tell which one is more blue. :p Also I have to say hats off to @Peng as he is definitely one of the best non vendors I have received coral from. In fact he ships better than some vendors I have bought from. :p

Oregon tort on the left. Wild piece that was grown from a 1" frag on the right, which is slightly overexposed.

Also have Oregon tort and blue matrix, but there’s already a bunch of pictures of those on here.

Some of the OBT shown in this thread, including the side by side with HOTO, are not colored to full potential.

Donovan, that coral is NICE!

The HotO next to the OBT is not shown in that photo to have full color either... just probably a photo thing. I have had OBT since about 1995 and had it colored well in many tanks and it is nowhere near as blue as HotO is.

I'll take your word for it JDA, It must be amazing then. I lived in Portland when Waves had the original colony of OBT and I've been in love with it ever since. When colored up well I've never seen another coral as blue. Sounds like I need to get a chunk of HOTO!

IMO, HotO is going to be a blue staple like the OBT, Tyree Ice Fire, Cali Tort, Palmers Blue, Sapphire Mille and Blue Matrix are, each in their own ways.

Everybody who sees it ay my house wants a frag, but I have not fragged it yet... it should be ready later this year.
