I was able to find time this morning to plumb the overflows/ drains. I used a stockman style standpipe with air lines silencers on my last tank and it ran dead silent. Not sure if this will run the same but we will see. Just an experiment.

I need to set this up for my future monster build.

I dig the low profile aqua-rock scape!
Thanks, wasn’t really going for that look but didn’t really want to buy more rock. That’s a little over 250 lbs. and my sand ended up deeper than was supposed to. Ordered a bit to much but didn’t want to throw it away or leave it setting around.

You'll really like not having a lot of rock so your corals can grow and be the star of the show. Plus your fish will dig all the swimming room. I'd always error on too little rock. You'll add more, or can, with corals you buy.

I think that amount is perfect.

Get some schooling fish for the top third of the water column. It will be awesome.

Great thread. I also just ordered a 84" tank. Should be here in 2 weeks. You are far further along than I am. Defiantly following along with my fellow 7ft tank!

Build

I was also looking a the Synergy Sump, but in the end decided on a Geo with 2 filter rollers. I plan on getting the same UV also.

What made you decide on the Coralcare lights? I am debating between 3x of those, 3x Stratons or 4x Radion G5 Pros.

I liked the simplicity of the programming. And the size of the fixtures were perfect for my tank size. My tank has 2 braces so three sections or compartments. They have great light spread and I have no shadowing in the tank except in the caves/ deep over hangs.

So my sump came this morning! It’s a synergy reef cl-60 storm cloud with matching ato container. My first impression is that’s it’s very nice in looks and quality.

How are you liking the sump? I just ordered this model today in blue :)

Edit: My only concern is too much flow in the refugium? I debated Icecap XL (at 1/3 cost when you factor in shipping) because it has a passive flow refugium. But i really wanted larger and the features on this one. Plus its just so nicely made.

I really like the sump. Don’t have my refugium set up yet so not sure on the flow. Looking into the chambers it doesn’t look like any of them have a lot of flow. I know the return section is dead still.
