COMMON NAME - Indian Vegabond Butterflyfish

FOODS AND FEEDING– The Indian Vegabond Butterflyfish consumes stony coral polyps, algae, sea anemones and polychaete worms. In captivity, it can be fed a varied diet for carnivores and herbivores.

REEF COMPATIBILITY– No, will eat stony coral polyps.

CAPTIVE CARE – The Indian Vegabond Butterflyfish can be kept in pairs if both specimens are introduced at the same time and the tank is large enough. However, it must be noted that younger specimens have a tendency to be aggressive toward each other. While it is an obligatory coral feeder, it will also accept most marine aquarium fare. This species is quite hardy and is tolerant to slight drops of water quality. It prefers a system with adequate swimming room, plenty of hiding places, and temperatures in the range of 72-82 F (22-28 C).
