what computer program are you using to mock your build?
Google SketchUp...I would love the credit but my husband is the brains behind that piece. I can do very simple things but he is really great at it. He actually designed our entire house.

Just ordered all my equipment...holy expensive Batman. I went with the Cobalt C-ray 200 instead of the Kessil AP700 based on recommendation from the owner of LFS (The Reef). I am having them also do the plumbing based on the fact that we are 100% burnt out on home improvement projects after finishing the entire basement. Should have water in about 1.5 weeks. I will post pictures after. I am also going to post pictures of the room behind the tank as it will be cool hopefully too.

All plumbed, filled, and waiting for cycling to finish. Meanwhile I am going to read about taking pictures of the tank. [emoji23]

My Apex seems to have been a dud, no power to the base. Apex folks are going to try more trouble shooting on Monday.

Going to do some cord clean up tomorrow and Sunday. Husband is going to get RO-DI going and work on the water station plan.

Nice! That aquascape came out great! In the area where the two structures meet, are they actually connected? It is very subtle. Overall the shapes are very interesting.

Hi gang!

I am currently finishing my basement. Building in a 150g deep with fish room behind it. Room has drains, sink, RO, dehumidifier, storage, and 2 dedicated circuits (more if needed we had to drop a subpanel so lots of space). Starting FOWLR and plan to go from there. I have the tank already. I am just waiting for construction to finish. (Est completion late August) I am posting my equipment/supply list below. I am going to try to find some used pieces to help break up the initial cost.

Equipment list:

Tank - Deep Blue 48-24-30
Lights - Kessil ap700
Sump - Bashesea 361818
RO-DI - Koolermax I have RO at basement bar too
Skimmer - eShopps S-200
Pump - ecotech vectron L1
Gyre - Maxspect gyre XF250
Heaters - Cobalt neotherm X2
Monitoring - Apex Controller System
Plumbing - 1 return follow Bean Animal. I am struggling here. Tank has 2 overflows built in but I do not want to run 2 return pumps.
Live Rock - part live and part dry
Dry Sand -
Power heads - may need in future
ATO - DIY
Water Reserve - DIY with trash can
Auto Feeders - not necessary now
Battery backup - need research/advice

Supplies:
EVA foam
QT tank - 55g on hand for long term. need to find a used 20g for medicating
Refractometer - need a good one
test kits - for back up
probes - future for apex
copper and medications - future
filter socks diy- need to buy fabric and do more research
cheato algea for refugium - aquarium clubs?
back up heater- cheapo
air stones and piping- cheapo
cheap grow lights -on Amazon I have some

They do touch but barely! I am actually going to move that piece just a little. It's close to the back glass and it make me nervous.

After a migraine pretty much took me out, I can finally look at the rocks in more detail without the lights making me want to hide. [emoji23] Pretty cool pieces.

So it turns out the owner of The Reef (LFS) lives a mile down the road from me. Pretty handy [emoji16]

Here are some more pictures of the rock. It's only 5 huge pieces. I didn't want to mess with gluing a bunch together. I am going to move at least the center one but the rest will stay where they are at.

Spent some time today attempting to get cords organized. It's still giving me anxiety to look at but much better then it was.

Appears I have diatoms...seems early since it's been just over a week since adding water.

Glad to hear! I am north of you by about an hour, close to Marion. Unfortunately there aren't any great reef stores in Marion, but if you ever want the hottest coral around for unbelievable prices, there is a store near Muncie that will rock your world!
Brad at Simply Saltwater on Hwy 28 just outside of Muncie has nice corals. I live in Muncie and we get a lot of coral from him.

I'm having some serious basement envy... Wow that looks great! Nice work all around on your build, I'm sure some public bars would be jealous of that setup.

I dont envy working on that tank tho, you need some long arms lol. Can't wait to see your progress, thanks for sharing.
