After June 2021 no wild coral cites exist for Indonesia. Starting next month only farmed corals will be exported meaning no more beautiful Indo trachy, Acanthophyllia, cynarina, or other corals that can’t be farmed currently.

Ill miss the colors as generally those corals are better colored from indo than Australia. Also trachy from Indonesia are on average far hardier than those from Australia.

who has some solitary LPS gems from Indo to show off?

I have a question: are these brain corals from Indonesia?

On the sand those all look like Indos. On the rocks aussie
Oh my gosh. I’m so sad…and grateful that I purchased all those brain corals.

That’s so beautiful! Do we have any way of propagating these corals? I’d be too scared to, but I’m curious to know.

Not at this time. Research is being done on sexual reproduction of these corals but nothing is currently available to provide these corals :(

It was closed for wild coral export for a few months in 2021 but has since reopened
Thank you so much for the info. I was really confused. I am curious on if you know why they re-opened it? Did they change the timeline of permanent wild coral ban or got rid of the ban all together?

I’m not sure I assume a ban still is supposed to happen at some point. Exporters were arguing that they lost a year and a half during the total ban so the time should be extended at least.
