Noticed that my Clown has a swollen mouth today. Otherwise he looks fine and still has the same appetite. First time dealing with a (presumably) sick fish, so I'm looking for advice on the best path forward. Tomorrow is water change day, so I have some water ready that I could divert to setup a QT. Should I try to remove the fish a soon as possible? Are there things I should do to the main tank to help his immune system?

About 4 weeks ago I introduced another smaller Clown fish. Both appeared to get along fine and even seemed to pair up, swimming together, only occasionally chasing. So perhaps it's been under additional stress, though haven't noticed any strange behaviors. The smaller clownfish and a firefish both seem perfectly fine. Water parameters are also good.

Thanks!

I'm thinking it might be mouth rot.

I recommend treating with kanaplex and furan-2. You can also add metroplex.

Here's a good article to read on bacterial infections
