Are these tanks worth it??

My only draw back is that I don't want the stand - I feel like I can get a cheaper stand. Some of the packages come with a light and a skimmer that fit the needs of the tank. I like the rimless look, but I am clueless when it comes to plumbing and drilling to make a sump. Are there cheaper options? I'm ok if I don't go with rimless.

Depending on size you might consider going custom. I was talking to the owner at my LFS this weekend, and he said he sells ten custom tanks for every manufactured tank. It's hundreds more, but when you're already spending thousands it may make sense. You can choose what type of overflow, where the holes are drilled, etc.

If you find or build your own stand all you have to do is tell your tank builder what size to make your new tank.
