Lou has explicitly stated Part C contains all 70 trace elements found in NSW.
Assuming that's correct, why doesn't the label mention anything but Mg and K? Wouldn't that be an important thing to know?

Hopefully on Monday Hans Werner will read this long discussion and let us know why TM labelled PartC the way they did.

And tell us what's actually in it.
I thought Randy said he spoke to them already and it’s just reef salt without the sodium and chloride. Did I misunderstand?

I think it’s just Pro Reef salt minus the sodium chloride, calcium, and any alkalinity additives (sodium bicarbonate or whatever else they use.)

Water changes don’t replenish trace elements just like Part C doesn’t replenish trace elements.

The chances are, in my case, my tank simply didn’t use much magnesium for whatever reason. The little bit added by Part C was enough for my system

Not a chance. It’s a proprietary formula just like their salt mixes. All companies are this way with many products.
I didn't realize the same elements that are in seawater would be proprietary

And tell us what's actually in it.
Maybe state what exactly you want them to tell us.

Otherwise the answer may be “sodium chloride free salt”

I think we did that Rodeo few times now…

Actually I am lost, is it a label question or composition or…

Does their salt mix label show all levels? No, it doesn't.

I don't know why they chose to give you some info and not more info. That doesn't change the fact that the description also very clearly says what it is.

I'm an engineer. Specifics matter.
So you say you are an engineer. I suspect you are familiar with reverse engineering…

There are approximately 92 naturally occurring elements in seawater. If you eliminate the obvious ones like O, H etc… you can figure out what the 70 likely are.

As for concentration TM stated they add them in natural concentrations…

Mystery solved…

When they say it contains 70 elements in that description they are likely referring to their complete balling method overall. Not just in part C. Notice they reference the Alk and Calc parts as well in that description. Not 70 elements just in part C. That is how I read it….
Nearly all of the 70 elements are also in Part C. This is because Part C contains all the trace elements in Tropic Marin. What we have left away in our Part C for our Original Balling is calcium and inorganic carbon (=alkalinity) because these are in Part A and B. What is in Part C is nearly the Periodic Table of Elements without noble gases and radioactive elements. So it is easier to ask what is not in Part C.
