See photos below.. “dry rock” has green all over it, was wrapped in damp newspaper balls and had moist sand throughout.

I wrote the customer service and they said “it is dry rock. Stored outside. Just rinse it off in bucket of water”

sound right?

I thought dry rock would be, well.. dry? Have no green growing all over it, etc.

...

I would just rinse the rock and go through your curing cycle. Your cycle may take shorter time if they had already put there rock in a tank before they sell to the customers. Where did you order the rock from?

I looked at the site. The rock got wet. Maybe a hurricane or something. Does not look like its been in the ocean recently. Since you dont know what their storage yard looks like its hard to tell where the sand came from, Marco rock comes dry with dust but no sand.
As said above. Rinse it. Cycle it like dry rock and you will be fine.

From here

ok will give it a shot.. this is my first saltwater tank and I specifically chose dry rock because I don’t want to deal with bad hitchhikers etc. since I don’t know about it.
