I think it depends on if you are planning on using a skimmer or reactor to run the ozone thru. I have a mutiny reactor so running a air pump

I have seen plenty of setups where the skimmer pulls the air thru the ozone generator. There are a few YouTube videos that will show how to get it done. Remember your skimmer has to be ozone rated.

I've never seen the need to run this. Skimmer works great...skimmer with fresh air intake works best.

I have never used a Sander ozone generator so not sure if it getting hot is normal or not. The ozone generator I currently use makes some noise but no heat issues. I would recommend reaching out to the seller or the manufacture and asking them. As long as the hose goes to your skimmer venturi you have it correct.

I have the same sander ozone generator, the outlet is to NYOS skimmer and the inlet via a air dryer (silica gel beads in RO canister) with no air pump. There’s a bit of sound for sure and heat but not much of bother though. Currently, I took it offline temporary as I’m carbon dosing to bring down my phosphate.
