Hey guys, I ran a AIO tank with 4 chambers. 1st chamber is mechanical filtration (sponges, etc) 2nd chamber I use it for my bio balls/ bacteria housing, currently my I fill my 3rd chamber with carbon and my 4th chamber is just a return pump.

So, I want to move my carbon on top of my bio balls (2nd chamber) is it alright?? Bcs I want to put a protein skimmer on the 3rd chamber (where I usually put my carbon). So is it alright guys? Will putting carbon directly on the bio balls interfere the good bacterias?

It doesn't really matter where you put your carbon....before or after the bioballs makes no difference. Carbon will not remove nitrifying bacteria.
