Honestly it doesn’t look bad I see happy and open corals , jus t need to get rid of cyano , how’s the flow looking/ surface agitation?
The only flow is the return pump I’m trying to aim a powerhead properly

I think you just need to correct the reason for cyano , read up on it. I can’t offer too much advice because I’ve never had it except make sure you have ample surface agitation and water flow.

Yes actually its recommended that you start the hobby with softies, then move your way up to lps then sps. My tank is mixed with softies, lps, and alot of sps. The fastest growing beginner sps in my experience is red monti. Just don't jump the gun and buy a bunch of sps before you know you can actually grow them properly. Good luck.
I’ve been in this hobby since I was 11… I’ve just always kept softies because they were easy and inexpensive for the most part

One more question for you, do you use a dosing pump? I’ve wanted to buy one but don’t want to spend $400

I’m thinking of replacing the chaeto with Xenia honestly lol
no my build is very budget , I don’t have any dosing pumps, ATO , ect. I top off daily using a jug, and dose a cap full of Kent marine essential elements a week
