Hallo
I bought 3 weeks ago a royal gramma fish and noticed some sort of strange behavior.
It is diving into the sand and scratching its self
I haven’t noticed any white spots or other diseases on my 2 other clown fish

My gramma did the same. I wasn’t worried as there were no white spots. Next day she was covered and passed 6 hours later. Do you have a quarantine tank that she could go in to observe for a day or 2? I’d have some copper on hand just in case.

Is she just flashing to indicate territory?
If she fast, (which she is) and eats, I’d do nothing. EADA768E-F72A-4300-BAD2-4972B2170A3A.jpeg

Absolutely.
You would need more evidence of disease, as you can’t treat what you can’t diagnos effectively.
Mine does that with any new add, but, subsides.
She also may hold still in the water and open her mouth real wide.
This again is a display not to mess with me man.

Sorry, missed the 10 days she’s been doing this. I wouldn’t worry too much then. Having an operational quarantine tank will serve you well for future fish purchases.

If it had ick, it’s already in your DT, so ALL fish must come out.
I’d wait and see what develops.
Not sure what you would gain from treating only one fish.
And what treatment do you use?
If any other behavior changes, slowing down, not eating, swimm8ng into flow makers, or, you see white dots, take them all out and review procedures for treatment.

Thanks a lot!
She is somewhat aggressive.
I added yesterday a Bicolor blenny to my tank and she keep chasing him around.
The poor is hiding in some hole in the rock.
I am not going to medicate her without knowing if this is a disease. Luckily I am a pharmacist in a state hospital in Germany and can make my own medications.

I think you are right. but I wanted to spend my budget in my DT. I guess I could get me a small tank.
