what's the reason im loosing like 1kh per day in my tank with a total volume water 250g.

i have to dose like 8oz. of two part per day also my calcium reactor looks like is not enought for it, i have like 6 big chalices and many frags also some zoas and sps big monti caps.
1kh per day is what my system is demanding?
what corals use more kh than others?

any of you guys here is in the same boat?

thanks!!

Chavo del 8 me trae memorias de mi infancia, well to ur question it depends on a lot of factors, with such much water volume when doing water changes u might be dropping ur Alkalinity and all of ur other readings Ca, Mg etc, what salt do u use?

You sure your test is accurate? That does seem to be an odd decrease. How far down do you let it go before you dose? Like is it reading 7-8 and you add to get back to 9 before it drops again? How often are you water changing and just how stocked is your tank?

I'd love to see a pic :D

It does seem like it's dropping too fast, but the Ca reactor could be lowering the KH. Increasing the water flow through the Ca reactor will help.

I'm dosing 400 ml of each part of recipe 2 in my 90, so my alk would drop well over 1 dkh a day, closer to 1.5dkh according to the BRS calculator. I don't run a CA reactor though, but I do have to remove 600ml of tank water daily to keep my salinity stable...

I have noticed that my Salinity slowly creeps up as well. I have a ATO so it keeps tank topped off. Are there salts in Calcium Choloride, Soda Ash etc...?

Anything that dissolves in solution from an ionic bond is a salt so yes all of those things are salts. Ionic bond = a + charge held next to a - charge (i.e. Na+-Cl (Table salt))

look like you have a relatively high load on calcium and alk, I am currently dosing 480 ml of alk and day and 400 ml of calicum a day

SPS use a lot of calcium and alk

maybe it's time for a biggger reactor
