Hi guys,

I have a 112gallon Red Sea 425xl tank. I run a skimmer, clarisea filter, UV steriliser and ATO as well as a dosing system for my corals.

Currently I have the following fish and invertebrates (listed below - ignore prices).

Can I add more fish or would that be too many? Interested in adding a small Naso tang and 1 or 2 more other fish.

let me know your thoughts! Thanks for your help in advance!

People ate always looking at this wrong in my opinion. For some reason there is extreme emphasis on bio load and waste products rather than living areas. If parameters are where they should be the amount of fish obviously isn't an issue. We have tests for all that and it's an easily answered question....

The real issue in my eyes is the "living areas". By this I mean sleeping and hiding places. Certain places where the fish never have to face aggression. For instance a 100g tank with the increasing popular NSA layout may really only be good for 10 fish. While a tank that has tons of rockwork and caves would be just fine for 15 or 20. It comes down to aggression and managing stress to keep healthy fish.

You raise a very good point. I do have a lot of rocks and caves in my tank which probably helps. I have a bit much nitrate and phosphate at the moment which I’m working on bringing down by dosing Red Sea nopox. It’s coming down daily which seems to be a good sign

You also have to take into account the full grown size of the fish.

I had a 120 fowlr tank. I don't think I had more than 5 or 6 fish in it. Foxface, regal tang, some type of wrasse, tomato clown, couple of three striped damsels. I could have put a few more small fish in there, but not many other big algae eaters, the foxface dominated at feeding time.
