I love the idea of an encrusting coral covering something that looks really elaborate like a tiki totem pole or a face but don’t know that I would ever do it.

I put a bit in my observation/QT tank. Maybe the fish prefer PVC. I dunno. I haven't fully worked out QT yet.

No, it looks exactly what it is, fake, it seems impossible to to keep clean from algae et al, once you scape yout tank, your stuck with it, you just cant move everything around, like corals, and its very expensive.

I'd do It in a Fowlr with non-reef safe fish, but it would need to be the nice inserts with made to look like a reef. No way I'd put anything fake in a reef tank.

So what is the best brand of artificial reef inserts that look as real as possible for a FOWLR as I agree would never mix real with fake. Would like to try some in my FOWLR that looks real and doesn't fall apart or/and peel over time…..

I personally dislike anything looking unnatural in the tank, but I can see how some may like it.

IMO Reefs should all be alive, and you shouldn’t be able to see anything but coral and fish.

Only Celebrities who hire Celebrity fish tank people use fake reef/Corals, Also, I could see if you had a FOWLR tank using it...but that's it.
